It will be a battle at the North American box office as holdover film “Sully” looks to fend off newcomer “Blair Witch” to secure the top spot from Friday through Sunday.
“Sully,” which stars Tom Hanks as airline pilot Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger, is expected to take in 21.9 million dollars this weekend. It has already earned 53 million dollars globally.
“Blair Witch,” a followup to 1999’s “The Blair Witch Project,” is predicted to take in 21.5 million dollars. The film follows a group of college students who travel into the woods to investigate the Blair Witch haunting.
