Afghan president Ashraf Ghani said that his country believes in an Afghan-owned peace and don’t want peace from others.
Now is the time for Taliban that to think about whether they want to continue the war or coming for peace, Ashraf Ghani said while talking with media after signing peace agreement with Hizb-e-Islami.
“Both sides of peace agreement showed that we have the will to end the war in the country. The constitution of the country takes everyone’s rights into consideration. No article of the peace agreement with Hizb-e-Islami is against the constitution” Afghan president said.
It’s very clear now, to the people and the world, who wants war and who wants peace. We don’t want this war; this war is imposed on us and our security forces will defend the country, Ghani reiterated.
Hizb-e-Islami leader Gulbuddin Hekmatyar joins ceremony live via video link, he said that Opposition groups should realize that the only way is peace and they don’t have any other way.
“Taliban’s Mullah Rassoul group also supports us in our peace deal and they should also come to peace talks table”. He also calls on other groups to join Afghan-owned peace process.
