Pakistan Listed Among Top 10 Reformers In World

World Bank group’s doing business report has listed Pakistan among the top ten reformers in the world. World Bank group’s annual report on the ease of doing business said, a record 137 economies around the world have adopted key reforms that make it easier to start and operate small and medium-sized businesses.

The new report finds that developing countries carried out more than 75 percent of the 283 reforms in the past year, Pakistan, which was among the world’s top 10 improvers, implemented several reforms this past year, as did India and Sri Lanka.

The report said Pakistan’s performance has improved, indicating that the country is now more business-friendly for small and medium sized enterprises.

Pakistan has jumped four ranks from its position last year from 148 to 144 out of 190 countries under the revised methodology.

According to the report, various economic reforms have been spearheaded by Finance Minister Ishaq Dar on the ease of doing business through development and implementation of a national doing business reform strategy.
