Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif says benefits of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor would spill over to the entire region. He was addressing a two-day 15th ministerial Conference of Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation Countries in Islamabad.
In his key-note address, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said that Pakistan is committed to promoting economic and social development through regional cooperation. Terming regional cooperation key to fighting poverty, Nawaz Sharif appreciated the role of CAREC to boost regional cooperation.
Calling for establishment of a pool of experts from finance, banking, capital market, energy, transport and infrastructure sectors, Nawaz Sharif said the imitative would result in an intra-regional transfer of knowledge and multi-dimensional benefit for all.
On government’s achievements, Nawaz Sharif said focus on energy and economic stabilization has resulted in economic growth. Prime minister also offered to share Pakistan’s expertise in the stock market to other members countries of CAREC.
Nawaz Sharif expressed hope that investment in transport, infrastructure and energy sectors under CPEC will lead to uplift and development of whole region. Highlighting the role of CAREC in promoting regional cooperation, Prime Minister said Pakistan is a key facilitator in bridging the gap between south and central Asia.
