Govt’s Opponent Worry About Their Political Future

Finance Minister Ishaq Dar says sick-minded people cannot tolerate the development of the country, launched by the government and they fear their defeat in the upcoming elections.

He was addressing at a ceremony after inaugurating the new building of federation of Pakistan chamber of commerce and industry in Islamabad. Ishaq Dar said the opposition forces know that their political future is uncertain if the incumbent government completes its tenure.

The minister said the government’s prudent measures resulted into raise of 60 percent in tax revenue during the last three years. He said growth rate stands at 4.71 percent. Ishaq Dar further said that the foreign exchange reserves has increased to over 24 billion dollars against the seven billion dollars when the current government took over in 2013.

He commented the services of business community in increasing the tax revenue and in the development of the country. The minister said the government inherited several hectic challenges but overcome most of these due to concrete measures.

He said international financial institutions acknowledges Pakistan’s economic turnaround. He added that IMF and ADB anticipate Pakistan’s Gdp growth rise to five percent.

The minister criticized the past governments for energy crisis in the country. He said only 700 megawatt of electricity was added to the national grid in fifteen years.

Ishar Dar reiterated the government’s pledge to overcome the challenge of power outages by march 2018.
