The 51th annual Golden Bell Awards for television kicked off in Taipei with celebrities stealing the spotlight on the red carpet.
“A touch green” directed by a Taiwanese director Tsao Jui-yuan swept 6 trophies, no doubt to be the biggest winner this time.
The event, Taiwan’s equivalent to the Emmy Awards, attracted stars including Taiwanese popular musical group 5566, actor kingone Wang, Roy Chiu actress Cheyl Yang, Nana Lee and so on gathering at the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall.
In total 1949 pieces of works were registered to compete for various awards in the TV production award, and 37 were nominated.
Alice Ko, who won the Best Actress In A Drama Series, acted as an office lady Tsai Huan-chen in television drama “Marry Me, or not”.
“I didn’t think of (winning this award), but I acted very seriously this time so I really wanted to win. So when this award was announced, I still felt a little shocked,” she added.
The Golden Bell Awards, established in 1965, is one of the most prestigious ceremonies in the world of Chinese language dramas.
