PM Chairs Cabinet Meeting

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif while reiterating the desire for peace said nation along with its armed forces is united to defend the motherland against any aggression. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was chairing the cabinet meeting to discuss deteriorating situation in occupied Kashmir and review situation on line of control in wake of unprovoked Indian firing. The meeting started with foreign secretary Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhary’s briefing cabinet on the ongoing situation in occupied Kashmir. Rejecting the Indian claims of surgical strikes, the cabinet termed unprovoked firing on loc as violation of bilateral arrangements and international law. Prime Miniser said such adventurism poses a serious threat to regional peace and security. Deploring Indian allegations regarding the Uri attack, cabinet called it a strategy to divert attention away from Indian atrocities in Ihk. In a strongly-worded message, Nawaz Sharif said that no one would be allowed to cast an evil eye on Pakistan. Terming Kashmir an unfinished agenda of partition, prime minister said that the dispute cannot be ignored. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said that Kashmiris’ struggle for freedom cannot be suppressed through Indian brutalities. The meeting also called upon the international community to take notice of human rights violations in IOK where Indian forces have killed 110 innocent Kashmiris since July 8. Resolving to devote all energies to public welfare and development, the prime minister said his government is committed to eradication of poverty, ending unemployment and achieving prosperity.
