Filmmaker Tim Burton says his new film, “Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children,” is a mix of family and fantasy.
The film is based on author Ransom Riggs’ book of the same name and tells the story of a young boy who learns about himself through the peculiar children at a home where it’s normal to be strange and different.
“It’s just all the themes that, you know, feeling peculiar, those weird feelings as a teenager, weird family things and fantasy and reality mixed together. You know, those are all things that I loved in Ransom’s (Riggs) book. I thought he did – you know, that’s why, it just spoke to me.”
“Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children” opens in U.S. theaters on September 30.
