Death In Kashmir Rises To 105

In occupied Kashmir, a teenage girl was killed and over a hundred people were injured after Indian forces used brute force to disperse protesters in Shopian and other areas as curfew continues in the Kashmir valley. The killing raised the death toll in the ongoing Kashmir freedom movement to 105. The 13-year-old girl, Khushboo Jan, a student of 7th class, suffered cardiac arrest after Indian police and troops resorted to excessive force on the protesters near Chatwatan area of Shopian district. Witnesses said that government high school Chatwatan went up in flames when a teargas shell fired by the forces’ personnel landed inside it. They said “a residential house, a cowshed and apple carton also caught fire. Meanwhile, over a hundred people were injured, many of them critically, due to the firing of pellets and teargas shells by Indian troops and police in Vihil, Srinagar, Ganderbal, Sopore, Kulgam and other areas of the Kashmir valley. Indian troops vandalized the tents and took away 13 motor-bikes and later set them ablaze in Sopore to prevent a pro-freedom rally. The locals said that the police also arrested Hurriyet leader, Ghulam Nabi zaki, in the area. Indian forces also damaged four houses in kulgam. The forces’ personnel broke windowpanes of dozens of houses besides hurling abuses at the inmates in srinagar. The police also arrested several youth after beating them to pulp in the area. On the other hand, Indian troops, in their fresh act of state terrorism, martyred one more kashmiri youth in Handwara area of Kupwara district.
