Hong Kong shares rose in the morning session today following three straight losses but trade was thin ahead of a long holiday weekend and a crucial Federal Reserve policy meeting next week. The Hang Seng Index added 0.57 percent to 23,322.84 points by lunch. Mainland Chinese markets were closed for a public holiday.
