Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain announced to quit the party leadership once again and shifted the helm of affairs to Dr. Farooq Sattar. However, entreaties of the party workers forced him to withdraw his decision.
It should be mentioned here that Altaf Hussain was addressing the hunger strike camp in progress at Karachi Press Club (KPC). He all of a sudden announced that Farooq Sattar will take over the party henceforth.

The MQM chief said, “If Farooq Sattar can take MQM’s struggle for rights of the downtrodden especially Urdu-speaking people to its logical end, then, I delegate him the powers and announced him as the next party chief.”
Soon afterwards, Altaf Hussain resumed the address and announced to withdraw his decision.
Altaf Hussain voiced exasperation over party’s decision-making body –Coordination Committee.
