Pakistan To Face Ireland In 1st Odi On Thursday

Pakistan will face Ireland tomorrow in the first one day International of the two match series in Dublin. PTV sports will telecast the match live from 2.45 pm. The short-series precedes the Pakistan-England five-match ODI series. Captained by Azhar Ali, the 15-man squad includes six of the players who featured in the recently concluded test series against England. Sami Aslam, Mohammad Hafeez and Azhar Ali retained their places. Pakistan would look to Mohammad Amir, Wahab Riaz, Yasir Shah and the Veteran Umar Gul to provide firepower in the bowling department. Ireland’s preparations have been hampered by fast bowler Boyd Rankin’s injury who suffered a fracture in his left leg. Pakistan and Ireland have previously played six times in ODIS, with the Greenshirts victorious on four occasions. Their only loss against the Irish came in the 2007 world cup.
